MINNEAPOLIS — The public is invited to donate some much needed supplies to Haven Watch this Sunday at Ft. Snelling.

The group, formed during Operation Metro Surge, offers help with legal questions, healthcare referrals, lost wages and rent coverage to immigrants released from the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building, the de facto Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters in the midwest.

Haven Watch is seeking donations of suitcases and backpacks (for both adults and kids), as well as diapers of any size.

The public is encouraged to stop by the Ft. Snelling park and ride south lot between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26 to bring their donations.

For those unable to bring a donation, the group asks that you buy items from their Amazon wishlist or donate to their GoFundMe or Venmo.

Operation Metro Surge saw a deployment of federal paramilitary forces to Minnesota under the guise of immigration enforcement. In reality, the deployment acted as a punishment against a state famously hostile to Republicans.

About 4,000 agents terrorized the Twin Cities area over several months, abducting more than 3,700 immigrants and killing two people in the process.

"We exist to be a reliable haven for people navigating one of the most difficult moments of their lives—and we are committed to this work for as long as it’s needed,” the group states on their website.
