MINNEAPOLIS – A 33-year-old St. Louis Park man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl several times over the course of about a year.

Fausto Miguel Laso Mishqui was initially charged by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office in January.

District Judge Lisa Janzen, who sentenced Mishqui in August, also ordered Mishqui to serve 10 years of probation following his release.

Mishqui began sexually assaulting the girl, his cousin's child, when she was in 5th grade but began raping her when she entered 7th grade, according to the criminal complaint.
