MINNEAPOLIS – An 81-year-old Plymouth man is accused of possessing child sexual abuse material after Hennepin County Probation officers performed a search of the man’s residence.

Gary Michael Nunn is charged with one felony count of possessing pornographic work by a registered predatory offender, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Hennepin County District Court.

Nunn was convicted in 2006 of felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Hennepin County, which required him to register in Minnesota as a predatory offender.

Nunn's probation agents found child sexual abuse material on seized items from a March 11 search of his Plymouth residence, according to the complaint, signed by Plymouth police officer Krystal Beauchane.

Hennepin Assistant County Attorney Stephen Grego also signed the complaint.

According to Beauchane, while Nunn is only facing one charge of possessing pornographic material, a Plymouth police investigator found 18 files containing lewd depictions of children.

In the complaint, Beauchane wrote that Nunn was previously investigated for sending child sexual abuse material but the case was closed due to another party refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

Nunn’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility.

He is currently listed as in custody at the Hennepin County jail.
