Free Download: ICE Front Door Safety Plan (English/Español)
The Trump Regime's paramilitary occupation of Minneapolis and the surrounding area is getting more aggressive every day. With documented reports of ICE going door to door terrorizing families, it's important to be as prepared as possible for an unexpected encounter.
We know that being unprepared during a stressful encounter can increase anxiety for adults and children alike. Having a plan in place and talking through it with your family can help reduce that panic if the worst happens.
We've prepared a free, downloadable ICE Safety Plan crisis response resource (see bottom of this page) that can be printed and hung by your front door for quick access if federal agents come knocking.
There's an adult version and a kid-friendly version that instructs children to find an adult in the house right away and then go to their designated safe room. We encourage caregivers to talk to their children about the safety plan and choose a space in the house that will serve as the "safe room."
These handouts are crisis response tools. They are not legal advice, not guarantees of safety, and not a substitute for professional guidance. They are designed to help reduce panic and provide a clear plan of action to take in a stressful moment.
Understanding your rights and having a household response plan does not stop ICE from knocking on your door, entering a home without consent, or escalating enforcement in other ways. What it can do is help you respond in ways that keep your family’s emotional and physical reactions clearer and calmer, so you’re less likely to freeze or panic in the moment.
