MINNEAPOLIS – A Crystal man was sentenced to 120 months in the Hennepin County Workhouse following a conviction in Hennepin County District Court for sexually assaulting his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
District Judge Paul Scoggin honored a plea deal between Hennepin County prosecutors and Michael Angelo Walker, 36, where he was spared prison time following his July guilty plea to felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor while in a position of authority.
Walker would go into the girl’s bedroom once or twice a week over several months in 2025 and sexually assault her, according to the criminal complaint signed by Crystal police officer Tim Tourville and Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Kaitlyn Cannon.
Scoggin sentenced Walker to 120 days in the workhouse but denied his request for electronic home monitoring. Walker was also credited with 32 days for time served.
A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for five years, provided Walker follows his probation stipulations, which require him to attend a sex offender program and have no contact with children.
