MINNEAPOLIS – A 20-year-old Brooklyn Center man is accused of possessing sexually explicit videos of children, according to a complaint filed on Dec. 1 in Hennepin County District Court.

Anthony Shannon Jr is charged with four felony counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to the complaint signed by Brooklyn Center Police Detective Jake Wilkins and Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Stephen Grego.

Law enforcement was notified of possible explicit material on Shannon Jr.’s Dropbox account in September 2025 by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Shannon Jr.’s electronics were seized by police in October 2025 and 41 files on those devices matched with identified child survivors by NCMEC, according to Wilkins.

At least one video contained a child that was toddler aged, according to Wilkins.

Shannon Jr.’s next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
